Dodjie and kathy both met in Sycip law firm. Yes, they are both lawyers. Dodjie is now legal counsel for Ayala Land and Kathy for Del Monte. Kathy is also a super OC bride. HEHEHE! When Terry Uy handed Kathy the boquet that was on the bed for her photo ops. She noticed that the boquet left a wet spot on the bed. We overheard her telling her bro to dry the wet spot because she didn’t want to to go back to the room with a wet bed. hehehehe! Now, tell me that’s not OC! hehehehe!

Congrats Kate and Dodj…..Enjoy your Onsite Video

Robbie & Marianne

The 3rd Saturday after Typhoon Ondoy another storm was suppose to hit Manila, Typhoon Ramil. Luckily, Ramil stopped somewhere in the ocean and did not hit Manila that Saturday. Robbie and Marianne were both very happy that it was a hot and clear day for their wedding.
Marianne was a very happy bride. She was laughing & smiling the whole time in the hotel. Robbie and his family, in the other room, were all very happy that finally Robbie was going to get married.
The Gospel that was read was the Wedding Feast in Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle. Father Roberto Latorre, had a very interesting homily for the couple. He mentioned that we should be sensitive to others as Mama Mary was sensitive during the feast. He then said, “A man learns to be a father through the mother. We men, don’t know how to father, but we learn it because you observe your wife. You start to learn how to care….”…Hmm…very pro-Marianne or pro-women, which I would ofcourse agree with. I wonder who picked Father Latorre? Marianne or Robbie? What do you think?
Did I forget to mention they had 2 bands for their reception? Not 1 but 2. Bankers, Robbie & Marianne, surely know how to party.

Aldrich & Nina

One week after typhoon Ondoy with the threat of another Super Typhoon called Pepeng to hit Manila on the weekend of Aldrich and Nina’s big day. Nobody knew what was in store for us. With the help of the whole nations prayers typhoon Pepeng missed Central Luzon which made it a perfect day for Aldrich and Nina.

Walking in the bride’s hotel room, you will immediately notice the bride’s ballerina frame, very tall and slender. All her bridal things were ballerina inspired. From her figurine, her pink shoes, headpiece to her gown, it was a ballerina’s dream wedding. The highlight of the preparations was when Nina put on her veil. Her mother gasped and started laughing, or so it seemed to us and to everybody who was in the room. She said, “She is so beautiful kac…” then the laughter began again…and then we saw tears falling from her eyes and she groaned in pain. How my heart broke when I saw her crying because her baby girl was getting married. Nina’s sister was also in tears. It was such an emotional moment for Nina’s family.

The groom, Aldrich, is tall, dark, handsome and is from Toronto Canada. They met each other at a very young age since Aldrich is a godson of a relative. Aldrich is Nina’s one and only boyfriend, according to Nina’s sister Audrey. Which make’s him a very lucky man. ๐Ÿ™‚

Julian & Marion

Sept 26, 2009
Makati Shangrila

As we drove across EDSA to Shangri-la Hotel at 1040am in the rain, Paul and I were discussing how hard it would be to unload our things at the Shrine of Jesus and park in the open parking area in front of SMX for Julian & Marions ceremony at 3:00 pm. Paul said we had to leave for the church at exactly 200pm because we didn’t want to get caught in the traffic for the free concert of Senator Manny Villar. That was the only possible problem we thought we would encounter yesterday.

We got to the hotel in 5 minutes and was up in Marion’s room by 1100am. Marion was very excited and was already made up when we entered her room. Lourd Ramos, started putting makeup at 8am. Every body in the room was excited. Everything was business as usual until the church people called at about 1pm that Father Dacanay, an Ateneo priest, was not going to make it to the ceremony. The Shrine didn’t have any other priest to officiate the wedding.

For about 30 minutes Marion’s family called their relatives and friends asking if anybody knew a priest who was available yesterday. Even the coordinators, makeup artist called their priest friends. Paul even called his childhood friend, Father Mon of St. Andrews, but Father Mon was stuck in EDSA going to another wedding.
Finally a Priest was found by a relative who was in a seminar in Allied Bank building in Ayala Avenue.

When they found a priest, the next problem was getting to the church in Mall of Asia. News came in that EDSA was not passable anymore. If we were lucky enough to get to Shrine of Jesus, we may not be able to go back to the reception. Oh what to do now???? Marion was so cool this whole time. Never screaming, nor crying…she was actually laughing things off. Ordering more food for us to eat…even if we already ate a double cheeseburger from McDo.

Text messages from relatives & friends stuck in their cars started to come in. They wouldn’t be able to make it to the wedding. Marion was still relaxed. A cousin was trying to suggest to cancel the whole thing and just reschedule it for another day. Marion said she had to wait for Julian’s decision. At 300pm they decided to have the ceremony at the foyer of Quezon Ballroom in Makati Shangri-La.

They had about 60 guests at their ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony. Marion was so beautiful in her Veluz gown. She said in the room, “when I see Julian, I’m sure I’m going to cry…” and that she did. Julian and Marion celebrated their union, though questionable, with 100 of their closest friends and family. Their hosts were Sam YG of 89.9 and Bianca Gonzales, both friends of the bride and groom. It was a fun and very entertaining reception. As they were ending the program, Julian surprised Marion with, not 1 but 3 songs to sum up their relationship in 3 parts. The past, the present and the future.

Julian & Marion were very positive the whole day. Their spirits were not brought down by Typhoon Ondoy. Because the most important thing was that they were together to celebrate their love for one another.

Let me introduce to you Chris and Super W@Wie bride Raquel. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think Raquel was the overall winner in the bidding war of Weddings at Work’s 10th anniversary. She won 1 Love Story AVP’s by Sheirdan Pamintuan, 1 Prenup teaser by Chug Cadiogan, coverage and 2 AVP’s from us. There were a total of 6 AVP’s shown during the reception. Wow! Talk about Bongga! The funny thing is when we first met Chris and Raquel they said they were very uncomfortable in front of cameras. So it surprised me that they were in each and every video that was shown and they were so at ease with camera. HAHAHA! Showbiz! Just kidding guys! I just had to share it!

The reception venue in sofitel was was also dressed up beautifully. Her gown was by Rajo Laurel. Make up by Xeng Zulueta, Photo by Pat Dy. The event was also coordinated by Christine Ong Te who did a very good job together with her team. Talk about quality suppliers. Every single detail of that day was carefully planned by the couple. Everything was perfect.

Chris and Raquel are also good friends were our past couple Edcel and Gizelle. Raquel was a secondary sponsor at Giselle’s wedding. This time it was Giselle’s turn to be a secondary sponsor. ๐Ÿ™‚

Benjie & Agnes

Benjie is a childhood friend of mine from Bel Air. When i found out that Benj was getting married, it came as a big surprise to me and I’m sure to a lot of other people. My initial reaction was that i should meet Agnes and see what is it that made Benj change his views on the the whole marriage thing. True enough, when i finally met Ags my questions were answered. Agnes is a very pretty, simple, charming and career driven girl. It’s not hard to get along with her even in our first meeting we immediately hit it off. Benjie was hooked on this girl and the most important thing is that they look good together.

Agnes is the only one who works for Vicky Belo that cares less about being Kikay. It was funny that when we were taking video of her feet when she was putting on her shoes, she immediately said “it’s a good thing i got a pedicure today for the first time ever” hahahaha! What would Vicky Belo have to say about that. Ags looked beautiful in her wedding gown designed by Rajo Laurel who personally came to dress her up. Benjie on the other hand is an outdoors type who loves cars and bikes. He also has a high end bike shop in Makati and he loves assembling high end cars. The couple drove off to the wedding reception with a newly assembled white porsche 911. Beautiful car for a beautiful couple.

It was nice seeing a lot of old friend again. Everyone was dressed up for the event. Even Caron had her outfit made by Tina Lirag of New Yorker. It was nice to be working and being part of the wedding at the same time.

Congrats buddy!

Bong & Chi

Today is Mama Mary’s birthday. It was raining cats and dogs but that didn’t dampen the spirits of Bong and Chi so why should we get affected. The show must go on. The rain meant that Mama Mary was blessing the most important day in the couples life.

Chi was holding a picture frame of her father the whole day who had already past away. She wanted her father to be with her every step of the way. Bong also turned emotional as he sees his bride enter the church. Tears flowed and everybody was emotional also.

The reception was very entertaining. The brothers of Chi prepared a surprise dance number for her. As in! Well choreographed and well practiced. These guys seemed to me that they were a Boy Band or a Girl Band in the past. They did a very good rendition of the Spice Girls. Then the eldest brother of Chi had very touching words for the couple that brought tears to Chi again. He was her father figure that night and everyone knew that he was there to look out for his younger sister.

Also take note that i had a cameo appearance in their video on the 53rd second. Thanks to Caron for including me in the video because she knows that sometimes i like being in front of the camera rather the behind.

Enjoy you video Bong & Chi.

Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on August 30, 2009 by 30fpsdigitalvideo

We had just recovered from grueling week in CWC (Camsur Watersports Complex), being part of the first ever Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines. Paul was also a part of the first ever, all Canon 5D MKII shoot for a sporting event in the Philippines. Together with friends Boom Dayupay, Raffy Yllana, Aids Tecson, Yohan Sy and Carlo Nasol they covered the whole event from all angles using only 5D cameras. They were able to get awesome action shots which still has to be converted from HD to SD format before it can be edited. So please bare with us, video to be posted soon.

We also had another task in CWC and it was to feed all the Ironmen, families, sponsors and guests. It is also known in the wedding industry that we are not only wedding videographers but we are also family to the owners of the famous Melo’s Steakhouse. Melo’s was given the task of feeding 2k people in a span of five days. Breakfast, lunch and dinner! The biggest challenge was the awards night in which we fed 1,100 very hungry athletes and guests with a 4 course plated meal. It was a success! When the dinner was over, it felt like we had also completed the Ironman 70.3 from exhaustion but it was all worth the experience.

We would also like to thank Mr. Hubert Tan of Asia Brewery for giving Melo’s staff Cobra Energy drinks for the Awards Night. Mr. Hubert Tan and his girlfriend Hazel, dined in Melo’s friday night. All the participants were in the Convention Center for their Carbo Loading Party so we were open for our Ala Carte Menu. They ordered two Melo’s Burgers. While waiting for their meal, Paul spoke to them and he introduced himself as Hubert Tan. He was just a simple, young man dining with his girlfriend. Before they left they said “you have the best burgers!”

Saturday, we saw them again dining & going in and out of Melo’s. The day off the race, we watched him finish the race with Hazel who asked if they could sit in our cabana. After Hubert finished the race, Hazel told us about how Hubert’s bike chain broke. Paul and I asked her how he fixed his bike and she explained that they have tools stashed in little compartments of their bike or they carry the tools in their bag. (Which I can’t picture up to now.) They were so nice, simple and friendly. It was only a few hours before the Award’s Night festivities that we realized he was the same Hubert Tan who owned Asia Brewery, the major sponsor in Cobra Ironman 70.3 Phillippines. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks again for the Cobra Mr. Hubert Tan!

Voltaire & Nela

Volts, the son of former NBI Director Reynaldo Wycoco married his long time sweetheart of 14 years Nela San Jose. Nela was stunning in her gray gown by Jiji Cinco. A simple but very elegant wedding. None of the usual wedding traditions during the reception only the cake cutting and toast, which would normally put a lot of pressure on us to finish the Onsite MTV quickly but this couple was so cool that they told us “Whenever we’re done that’s when we will play it. Best effort nalang! Anyway, this is gonna be an all night drinking party!” On that note, all pressure was out the window making it easier for us to work. Caron pulled off the edit just before the thank you speech. We also want to thank Jody Liwanag for stretching the reception program. There were loud cheers when Volts was caught in the brink of tears when Nela was about to enter the church. We really captured that moment.

I also have to mention a part in the speech of volts which really touched everyone. He said “13 years is a long time especially if you were an OFW working for your family or if you were incarcerated but if youโ€™re with the love of your life and youโ€™re happy, it goes by really fast.”
I hope i got it right Volts. It was our pleasure to be part of your wedding day. Cheers!
